So basically, the first reviewer didn’t like it, the publisher/developer complained so you’ve caved in and got another reviewer to give it 9/10?
No, I was not brought in to simply give it a 9. We have never been told to give a game a specific score and never will be told to give a game a specific score. I spent the good part of an afternoon going through the game and had a lot of fun with it. If this title ever shows up on XBLA or PSP I would buy it in a heartbeat. I liked everything about it except for the lack of multiplayer as my review stated. This was simply an opposing view point.
If you look at Game Rankings it still lists Phil’s review and the 4/10 score he gave it. That is the review that the aggregate sites will look at it. That is the “real” review as far as those sites are concerned. This second review in no way helps the company out with the game’s overall Game Rankings/Metacritic score which is what everyone looks at. It is simply a second view point similar to how some of the magazines have done in the past where they had multiple people look at a title.
Also thanks to Scott who loaned you the use of his PS3 for four hours…I watched Brandon play this game and completely agree with what he said. We spent a good amount of time discussing this game afterwards and we both loved the game. I, too, would love to add this to my PSP if it comes available. Well written, Brandon.
