The team at Xbox LIVE is definitely getting caught up in “Beatlemania” as the September 9th release date for The Beatles: Rock Band quickly approaches. To celebrate, Xbox LIVE will be offering up a digital cornucopia of Beatles goodies along with the opportunity to help save lives around the world!
As previously reported, “All You Need Is Love” will be available exclusively to Xbox LIVE members on September 9th, the same day The Beatles: Rock Band releases. Apple Corps Ltd, MTV Games, Harmonix and Microsoft will be donating all of the proceeds from the song to Doctors Without Borders, the international emergency medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971. Former band members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr along with Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison personally selected the organization and hope that the more than 20 million Xbox LIVE members will take the opportunity to help millions more across the globe by making the 160 Microsoft Points purchase!
Xbox LIVE will also be featuring a number of media offerings including music videos, documentaries and movies inspired by the Fab Four. From classic tunes from band members to the best of the Mersey’s music from today and even the critically acclaimed documentary, “Imagine: John Lennon,” expect no shortage of Beatles-inspired entertainment.
Speaking of “Beatles-inspired”, gamers will have a chance to test their knowledge of The Beatles in a unique 1 vs 100 LIVE episode tomorrow, August 29th. Players will get the chance to not only chat live with some of the creative minds behind The Beatles: Rock Band, but also call in to test your knowledge of the band and their music and even win some Microsoft Points for your efforts. Immediately following, fans who can’t get enough can continue the fun with two back-to-back 1 vs 100 Extended Play episodes full of Beatles trivia.
Did we mention that their will also be an exclusive Beatles t-shirt for your Avatar made available by the purchase of the game?
And if all of that isn’t enough, music fans and gamers alike will also get the chance join the “Fab Four Mystery Tour” – an interactive look at the Beatles and the many twists and turns of their career. The website, which will be launching soon, was created using artwork and animations from the eye-popping intro cinematic for The Beatles: Rock Band created by Passion Pictures, that debuted at E3 this year.
So, as the September 9th finish line finally approaches, all of us here at TotallyGN wish you peace, love and Xbox LIVE!
