Final Fantasy fans rejoice as Final Fantasy VIII is now available for you to download on the Playstation Network. Just like with Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII will cost you $9.99 and weighs in at approximately 1.8 gigabytes, so it will take you a while to download it off of PSN. For those unfamiliar with this Playstation 1 classic here is the premise:
“The peace of the realm is threatened when the evil Sorceress Ultimecia takes power as ruler of the Galbadia Republic. To restore order, Squall, a member of Balamb Garden Military Academy’s elite mercenary force SeeD, other allies from the Garden, and Rinoa, a member of the resistance, join together on a journey that spans time and space.”
Final Fantasy VIII will work on both your Playstation 3 as well as your Playstation Portable so you can play it on the road as well as in front of your television. With this release both Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII are now available for download off of the Playstation Network. All we need now is Final Fantasy IX to become available for download. Final Fantasy VIII is one of the most underrated titles in the series so be sure to check it out and with it being only $9.99 it is one of the best deals on the Playstation Network.
Did you play Final Fantasy VIII when it was originally released? If so, what did you think of it and will you pick it up now?
